I won't be satisfied unless I win a million souls for
Jesus everyday"
Lester
Frank Sumrall, born February 13th, 1913 in New Orleans,
Louisiana to William and Betty Sumrall. When Lester was 16
he was given a death sentence,he contracted Tuberculosis the
Dr. even came in and wrote out his death certificate he had
dropped 70 pounds in one year. But Lester did not die that
night as a matter of fact it would be 67 years before he
went home to be with his Lord and in those 67 years he
endeavored to fulfill the vision the Lord gave him on his
death bed at 16 years of age.
Brother
Sumrall met a man by the name of Howard Carter they joined one
another and traveled the world on the verge of World War II,
Bro. Sumrall has written about Bro. Carter in his
books Adventuring with Christ and Pioneers of Faith.
Dr. Sumrall also expounds on Carter's teachings of the nine
gifts of the Spirit in his book The Gifts and Ministries of
the Holy Spirit.
On
September 30, 1944, he married Louise Layman, and they had
their first child, Frank Lester (named for his father's middle
name) on December 31, 1946. On June 27, 1950 they had their
second child, Phillip Stephen, and on October 17, 1953 they
had a third, Peter Andrew.
Bro. Sumrall also became close friends with a man by the
name of Smith Wigglesworth, I was privileged to be in many
meetings with Bro. Sumrall and even in a small luncheon with
him in Alabama, I heard him speak of his meeting with Bro.
Wigglesworth and how that a time came when all the Americans
were ask to leave Great Britten because of the war, Lester
went to see his friend one last time, he said Bro.
Wigglesworth being taller then Lester began to pray over him
and weep, his tears falling down on top of Bro. Sumrall's
head, Bro. Wigglesworth begin to speak over Lester and tell of
the great revival coming and how he, Lester, would be a part
of it. That was the last time Lester was to spend any time
with his friend. I remember Lester saying to us he has made it
a point to be in every major revival he could get into and
would until he went home or Jesus came back. If you would like

I remember sitting under the teaching of Lester Sumrall, at
RHEMA and in other meetings he always made you think, his
stories were captivating. One thing that stands out to me more
then any other a quality that permeated the atmosphere in a
Lester Sumrall meeting, it was BOLDNESS, when you left his
meeting you felt like you could conquer the world for Jesus.
Bro. Sumrall said the one thing that he did that put him over
is "I never quit". He ran his race, fought a good fight.
In 1957, he established the Lester Sumrall Evangelistic
Association.
In 1968, LeSEA Broadcasting’s flagship station, WHME
Harvest 103.1 FM. Dr. Sumrall is the "father" of Christian
Television. He secured the first License for 24 hour Christian
television from the FCC and launched WHMB Christian Television
in Noblesville, Indiana in 1973.
In
1987, he was challenged by God with a vision to feed those
innocent people who are plagued by such desperate situations.
With enthusiasm and determination, Dr. Sumrall founded LeSEA
Global Feed The Hungry® that same year.

Lester
Sumrall traveled and shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ in 119
countries of the world. He was a genuine man of God. The
messages he preached were the same as the life that he lived.
"I am assured that this ministry will continue in the
second generation, and I pray in the third as well, if Jesus
tarries. We will experience success in our efforts to reach
those million souls for Christ, if we continue to carry the
same vision and consecration".
